ABOUT THE EVENT /
Welcome to the VE75 Commemorations Mirfield a 3 day family festival celebrating the 75th Anniversary of VE Day. Our VE75 event will incorporate a retro celebration and include vintage food stalls, military reenactments, vintage military and civilian vehicles, scooters, and many more amazing stalls!
All taking place at 4 special Mirfield locations
On the 8th May 2020 we come together to celebrate 75 years since the guns fell silent at the end of the war in Europe. Years of war and destruction had finally ended. A weight was lifted off the shoulders of the UK. 75 years marks the spot since the end of what was a tumultuous time across the continent. This anniversary provides our great nation with an opportunity to remember and commemorate the brave soldiers who fought for our freedom.
Times were tough, people lost their lives, communities were ruined and countries were brought to their knees. However, as Brits we still manage to look at positives and feel optimistic about the future. Our three-day celebration will take place from the 8th until the 10th May 2020.
We have traditional fairground rides, go back to the 40’s with traditional sweet stalls, an amazing array of vintage artisan beers, a 1940’s street party and show stopping entertainment and much more! You do not want to miss this!
Come Join us as we are proud to celebrate VE75 as the community of Mirfield and surrounding areas.
